How to play (step by step)
- 1Open the page and start the game.
- 2Move with on-screen buttons on mobile or arrow keys on PC, using jump, transform and leaf-throw.
- 3Take on Today's Run, which changes daily, or advance through the campaign stage by stage.
- 4Dodge enemies and traps, collect coins and treasures to build your score. A boss waits every ten stages.
- 5Submit your score to the online Hall of Fame and compete on the world rankings.
Strategy Guide
Understanding each character's controls and the scoring system lets you clear the same stage with a much higher score in Tanubi.
Five characters total — four unlock by score, one hidden one by finishing the campaign
Start with Tanubi (glide). Reach a cumulative score of 500 to unlock the rabbit (double jump), 2000 for the mole (dash), and 5500 for the fox (wall-cling). The fifth character, the otter, doesn't unlock by score at all — it's hidden, and opens once your highest reached campaign stage hits 100, meaning you've cleared the main campaign once. Its ability is the same dash as the mole's, reskinned as a belly slide. Each plays completely differently, so relearn your approach as new characters open up.
Chain your stomps
Landing consecutive stomps on enemies without touching the ground adds bonus points starting from your second hit in a row, and the bonus grows with each additional hit. The key is stringing hits together without landing.
Close calls score points too
Grazing past a charging or diving enemy without contact earns a graze bonus, and stomping one while it's mid-charge (defenseless) earns an even bigger punish bonus. Playing boldly near danger scores higher than playing it safe.
Consider going for a hitless clear
Clearing a stage without taking combat damage earns a separate clean-clear bonus. Save your hearts (shield) and jars (revival ward) for when you truly need them rather than using them early.
Today's Run is the same for everyone, worldwide
The daily seed is based on the calendar date, so every player faces the identical stage layout that day. Your rank is simply the number of players who scored higher than you on that seed — so you can retry within the same day to climb the board.
Campaign bosses appear every 10 stages and scale up over time
A different boss appears every 10 stages, and every 20 stages boss HP and attack speed both tick up (stages 90-100 are the toughest stretch). Stock up on hearts and jars before you walk into a boss arena.

Dusk went in as a daily variation and came out exactly seven days later. The reason was an owner call rather than a measurement, and the source comment says so itself. This is about how it was removed, and where the removal was written down.

The last hero, the fox, moved from 1500 to 2500. Players who had already crossed would find it locked again, and I called that a retention betrayal in the commit. I did build the safeguard. It just happened to be single-use.
